Legacy Celebration

The annual Brain Injury Association of Virginia Legacy Celebration is held to celebrate advocates and trailblazers working to change the lives of Virginians impacted by brain injury.

At this celebration, we host a cocktail hour to allow attendees to see old friends and make new ones while they enjoy tasty hors d'oeuvres.

After the cocktail hour, we host an award ceremony where we honor four individuals who have made an impact on brain injury in Virginia. We conclude the event with a guest speaker who joins us to share their story and how they are continuing the legacy of BIAV.

Dr. Jeffrey Barth

“He has been and always will be my mentor, my friend, and my family. One of the important things I learned from Jeff is that you can not only retain your humanity in this profession, but you can be kind and gracious. Academic medicine may be a serious endeavor, but the best medicine is a sense of humor and appreciating your family, friends, and colleagues – and always providing compassionate care to those who need it most.” - Dr. Donna Broshek
