Kelli Williams Gary, Ph.D.
Dr. Williams Gary has been a member of the board since 2014 and took over as President in 2020. She lives in Richmond and works as a Professor in VCU’s School of Rehabilitation Counseling. Dr. Williams Gary also lives with a traumatic brain injury.
Bryan Meadows has been a member of the board since 2016 and became Vice-President in 2021. Bryan lives in Fredericksburg and works as a personal injury attorney with Marks & Harrison.
Yael Israel, MSW, RMT
Yael Israel has been a board member since 2018 and started as Secretary in 2020. Yael lives in Northern Virginia with her family and. works as a clinical social worker in private practice at Hands On Your Health.
Dan Raper has been a board member since 2019 and Treasurer since 2021. Dan lives in Glen Allen and works as the Vice-President Data Science and Risk at Capital One.
Derk O'Neal has been a board member since 2015 and lives in Alexandria. Derek is a retired military and professional voice actor. Derek also lives with a brain injury.
Scott Bucci has been a board member since 2016. Scott lives in Richmond and works as an attorney at Breit Cantor Grana Buckner.
Charles Dillard, M.D.
Dr. Dillard has been a board member since 2017 and lives in Norfolk. Dr. Dillard works as a Pediatric Physiatrist at the Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters.
Meg Kelly joined the board as a member in 2018. Meg lives in Glen Allen and works as a Solutions Engineer at Wells Fargo. One of Meg's family members has a brain injury and that connection inspired her to join the board.
Debbie Leger-Ybarra has been a board member since 2018. Debbie lives in Virginia Beach and works in the electronic security industry. She is connected to brain injury through a close family member.
Alex Watson has been a board member since 2020. Alex lives in Virginia Beach and works as a Veteran Advocate in the Supported Services for Veteran’s Families Program.
Trish Smith, LPC
Trish Smith has been a board member since 2020 and lives in Richmond. Trish is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Richmond Creative Counseling LLC. Her previous work includes sexual and domestic abuse counseling, with a special interest in how brain injury and domestic violence intersect.
Spencer Koch joined the board in 2021. Spencer lives in Richmond and works for NuMotion in Assistive Technology and Seating. Spencer was introduced to BIAV after spending two sessions as a counselor for Camp Bruce McCoy, BIAV's two-week recreational camp for adults with brain injury.
