BIAV Wins National Excellence in Collaboration Award from Brain Injury Association of America

press release

The Brain Injury Association of Virginia has been selected as the 2020 Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) winner for Excellence in Collaboration. The award recognizes excellence in working together with others to achieve meaningful work to advance an organization’s mission.

The Brain Injury Association of Virginia (BIAV), which has served as a voice for Virginia’s brain injury community for nearly 38 years, submitted the award application based on a year-long project with Capital One to rebrand and remarket the Association’s Information & Referral program, which provides free resources, support, and information to Virginians impacted by brain injury. Using the new marketing and branding materials developed as a result of the collaboration, the Association will increase public awareness about how to access critical brain injury services and supports.

“We were beyond thrilled with the mentorship, guidance and ideas provided to us by a top-notch marketing team from Capital One. It’s made a positive impact on our messaging, and we are delighted their collaboration with us was recognized by our national organization,” said Anne McDonnell, Executive Director of BIAV.

The award was announced at BIAA’s annual affiliate leadership conference last month.
