Ways to Volunteer
Join the Speaker’s Bureau
The Speaker’s Bureau gives a public voice to the brain injury community, helps build awareness about brain injury, and draws attention to areas of opportunity for others to get involved with our cause.
Speaker’s Bureau volunteers are coached to speak publicly about their experiences to a variety of audiences and at a variety of occasions (fundraisers, legislative activities, expos, etc.).
The Speaker’s Bureau is open to:
- People with brain injuries
- People caring for individuals with brain injury
- Professionals who work with people with brain injury
To be a Speaker’s Bureau volunteer, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Commit to at least 1 speaking engagement a year

Become an Advisory Group Member
Advisory Groups bring together a diverse group of people to serve as a sounding board for organization initiatives and to provide insight on first-hand experiences related to brain injury.
Members are expected to engage in advisory activities such as:
- Attending focus groups about current issues in the brain injury community
- Reviewing brain injury resources and providing content feedback
- Making suggestions for new brain injury resources (topics, format, etc.)
Advisory Groups are open to:
- People with brain injuries
- People caring for someone with a brain injury
- Professionals who work with people with brain injury
To be an Advisory Group member, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Attend at least 2 group meetings a year
- Thoughtfully engage with advisory activities
