About Making Headway 2020 - Virtual Event
November 14, 2020

  • Who should attend?

The conference is open to anyone interested in brain injury. It is designed for individuals who have experienced a brain injury, their family members and caregivers,  and the professionals who work with them.

  • What is a Virtual Conference?

A virtual conference is hosted entirely over the Internet. This allows attendees to access live and recorded sessions from their computers or mobile devices (such as a smartphone or tablet). Attendees participate through a password-protected website page designed specifically for the virtual conference. During the event, you will be able to engage with presenters and fellow-attendees by chatting, talking during facilitated Q&A, and playing some games in our live social hour.

  • What do I need to participate?

You need a device, secure Internet connection, and supported web browser such as Chrome or Safari. For the best viewing experience, Internet Explorer is not recommended. If possible, use a hard wired connection vs. wifi.

Tips: if you experience lag time, freezing, or other issues, refresh your screen; if that doesn't work, log out and log back in. If all else fails, restart your device.

The conference will be using WebEx and GoToWebinar as the two main formats to deliver content. You do NOT need to have a WebEx and GoToWebinar account.  You just need to access the conference webpage and join from there.

  • How do I register?

Event registration is limited so register early. Registration opens October 7. Click the Register Now button on the conference webpage.  If you are a BIAV member, you receive a 15% discount. Not sure if you're a member? Email conference@biav.net. If you're not a member, you can join when you register and receive discounts to participate in our educational events. During registration, you must choose the panel presentation you will attend on Saturday afternoon. You must complete a separate registration form for each individual attending.

  • What happens after I register?

On November 11, everyone who registered will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to connect to the conference. You will receive a link to a password-protected page with the password.  This is how you will access the live presentations and recorded sessions. Please do not share your log in information with anyone.

  • Will I have access to session recordings if I can't participate in the LIVE sessions?

Access to all conference content, including recordings of the live sessions, will be available until 5:00 p.m. on November 28.

  • How much is it to register?
