COVID-19 Safety Protocols

The Brain Injury Association of Virginia is committed to the safety and well-being of our conference attendees. As such, we will closely monitor and follow state and federal public health guidelines related to the pandemic. If we deem it is safe to host the conference in-person, we expect staff, volunteers, and attendees to adhere to the following:

Individuals should NOT attend the conference in person if they or anyone in their household exhibits any of the following symptoms:

    • Fever (100.4F or higher)
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Diarrhea
    • Chills
    • Repeated shaking with chills
    • Muscle pain
    • Headache
    • Sore throat
    • New loss of taste or smell

If a conference registrant is exhibiting any of the above symptoms, a refund will be issued without penalty.

While in attendance, all attendees must agree to the following measures:

  • Distancing – stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from other people
  • Wearing a mask – cover your mouth and nose
  • Washing hands – use soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Monitoring your health – be alert to symptoms, listed above

Despite all our efforts to implement and follow health and safety guidelines to minimize exposure to COVID-19, we cannot guarantee against potential exposure. By choosing to attend, all conference registrants understand, acknowledge, and assume the risk of potential exposure.

Upon registration, you will be asked to confirm the following:

I have read and understand the Brain Injury Association of Virginia’s Making Headway Safety Guidelines and agree to comply. By choosing to participate, I acknowledge and assume the risk of potential exposure.   

I agree to release and hold harmless the Brain Injury Association of Virginia from any and all claims, demands, and causes of action arising out of or relating to my participation in the event.
