In 2021, BIAV's advocacy efforts furthered support for survivors, caretakers, and their families. For 2022, our goal remains - Make Virginia a better place for all those affected by brain injury.

The 2022 General Assembly session is a "long-session," a 60-day session in which the House of Delegates and Senate will not only pass new legislation, but also the budget for 2022-2024. Governor Northam introduced his budget to the General Assembly in December of 2021 and it's up to Governor Youngkin to amend the budget bill and determine the final appropriations.

This year's session is set to be in-person, but we wanted to provide an opportunity for all to participate. That's why we are announcing our Phone A Friend campaign! We are asking brain injury advocates like you to:

  • Learn about our asks to the General Assembly
  • Find your legislators
  • Phone, tweet, or email your friend at the General Assembly through our templates, scripts, or pre-written tweets
  • Tell us what you did! We have a quick form for you to fill out to tell us how you participated, share your experience, and upload a photo of you participating!
